About Juniperangelica Gia
Juniperangelica Gia Loving is a queer, trans Latina, mother, and community organizer based in the Bay Area, originally from El Monte, CA. She is an artist, strategist, scholar, designer, speaker, Libra, and lover.
Juniperangelica is the Associate Director of Gender Justice Leadership Programs at GSA Network & Transgender Law Center. She leads the organizations’ collaborative national trans youth programming which includes the TRUTH Program, focusing on trans youth leadership development and media advocacy, ROSES, an initiative centering the experiences and movement for trans girls and nonbinary fems of color, and capacity-building technical assistance for partner LGBT youth organizations. Gia also supports UC Berkeley’s Transgender Student Wellness Initiative.
Juniperangelica attended Citrus College and then transferred to UC Berkeley. She majored in Ethnic Studies with a minor in Race & the Law. While a student, Gia served in various leadership positions including ASUC Senate while at Cal and California Community Colleges Board of Trustees while at Citrus. She initiated UC Berkeley’s Transgender Student Wellness Initiative, ASUC Police Oversight Commission, and the Together We Thrive Scholarship Fund.
At the center of her world is Tiger; Tiger is her seven-year-old artist-in-residence, afternoon walk buddy, adventure companion, TikTok co-star, entire heart, and overall cool kid. She has been raising Tiger since he was four.
