I have been to India…, Part 6

On the last day of Convening 3 in India, each participant was given just five minutes to capture what was sticking with them at that moment in a seven line poem which began, “I have been to India….”. Since the return of the Cohort from India, we’ve been sharing these poems, without attribution, in this space.

I’ve been to India and

Met my sister, myself, a mother and survivor.

Who made the choice that no mother should have to make

To let her child go to keep her safe

When will she value herself and the world value her enough

To free her from this prison called

No choice
