Save the Date: Bystanders No More Event, Engaging Men in the Movement to End Violence
Gender violence cannot be eradicated without changing attitudes, especially those of men and boys. Increasingly, the movement to prevent and end gender violence is working to foster communities of male allies who recognize and reject this violence in all of its forms. Engaging men (and boys) with these issues on a large scale will immensely strengthen our movement. “Bystanders No More”, presented by Movement Maker organizations A Call to Men and Sanctuary for Families, will bring together influential activists and thought leaders who will discuss why men and boys should have a stake in the movement to end gender violence and what they can do to become leaders.
Featured panelists include:
Ted Bunch, co-founder, A CALL TO MEN
Casey Gwinn, President of the National Family Justice Center Alliance
Byron Hurt, Director/Producer, “Beyond Beats & Rhymes” – It’s: Hazing: How Badly Do You Want In?
Angelo Rivera, Director of Sanctuary’s Economic Empowerment Programs
Moderated by Pat Mitchell, President and CEO, The Paley Media Center.
