The Face Behind India’s Second Largest Source of Tourist Dollars

On our second day of our international convening in India, we visited Dilli Haat, an extraordinary outdoor marketplace in Delhi. Here, shoppers enjoy the opportunity to browse – and purchase – Indian handicrafts. What most visitors don’t know is that the marketplace, now in its 15th year of existence, sits above a large drainage ditch – and would not exist without the out-of-box thinking of feminist, socialist activist, and former politician, Jaya Jaitly.
